it is a feature of many messaging apps to let you save a draft of a message to be sent at a later time, if you are not ready to send it yet, but you want it kept so that you don't have to type it again

but sometimes you are never ready to send it and leave it in the drafts for an eternity

and as you continue to chase the latest devices, the message waits. waiting for you to hit muster your courage and hit send. waiting for the ever elusive read signal that it so longer for

but it never came


the repetitive bassline combined with the slow rising and falling pitch of the suspicious violin signifies the constant deliberation, with moments of conviction broken up by more moments of indecision

the synths represent life for the recipient going on as normal, unaware of the message desntined for it, but will never arrive, as it has been saved to drafts

the undescribable sound at the end is the moment the sender leaves the device to do something else, with some hint of returning to finally send the message when ready to do so. but the hint was never taken
