The Corleone Effect (2025 Version)

An extended (4 mins,50 secs) version of a 2.5 minute tune I wrote and published here last year. This is how I should have written it in the first place!

This begins as a spacey piano solo with bass and strings for accompaniment, exactly the same as my original arrangement - but then it builds into a full-on jazz waltz with complex harmonies from the strings together with the mini big band (trumpet, bone, alto, tenor, Bari, guitar, drums) that kicks in, half way through.

The melody, played on the right hand of the piano, stays relaxed throughout but the piece builds in harmonic complexity as it goes on. Even through these are just MIDI instruments you’ll still enjoy it more with headphones because there’s lots to hear (even though it’s quiet).
