My Chinese zodiac is the Lion. I made this song to symbolize a lion's hunt, and its strength, power, and courage to keep going. In the introduction, I used a full chromatic scale (with quarter tones) down, and octaves back up to a final chord of E, which, to me, sound like a fierce animal stalking it's prey. The sixteen-note sexlets symbolize the majestic and dazzling jumping of the jumping antelope in the next section. The next part, with the thirty-second notes, symbolizes the antelopes' urge to move faster as the lion gets closer. The two measures with arpeggios going up and getting faster symbolize the lions will to keep going. The Zebras section is filled with thirty-second notes and some left hand chords that are somewhat like the ones in the Jumping Antelope section, with notes and their very close quarter-tone siblings symbolize how fast the zebras can run. But the final chord in the piece is bitter-sweet, a natural scale chord, which leaves a feeling of celebration after the song end and the lion feasts on his zebra. hope you enjoy!
