Lay me down
In the shade of the Cypress
Where the birds will sing
In the Silent Spring
To the friends I have left
In these places that I wander
Bring me home, dear Everlis
Evermore.
Take me out,
To an isle on the water
Where the tall willow leans low
And the winds may blow.
If you come
To that isle on the water
Bring the name that I once wore
And speak it soft once more…
Show me who I might have been.
Take me to a place
Where the stars know my name
Light a flame on the water
So I find my way
Sit ashore in the brush
of the sweeping tide
Where the petals from the flowers
Scatter far and wide
Take me out,
To an isle on the water
Where the tall willow leans low
And the winds may blow.
Take me out,
To a place where the lanterns throw
And one’s wildest dreams sow
In a deep eveglow
Show me who I might have been.
I won’t cry
In the hush nor the din
Leave a light
Where the lost become
Whole.

I just want to thank
@maestroso for so graciously gifting me flat power after his latest challenge win <3 thanks gurl
Also, I want to thank Intutu for talking with me about possibly performing this piece! I love this one and I seriously hope we can :)

This piece was written as one of the first for my story that I'm writing. It's a folk song about the Lake Isle of Everlis, and a leitmotif that you may see more of moving forward ;)
But anyhoo, I hope you all enjoy this one! I've been working on it for just over a week now and I personally really love it <3
The weekly is killer right now, so this probably won't perform too great, but oh well!
Thanks again,
Alkai (Heiinn)
