Hello all!
I decided to actually do a Flat Comp this month! I loved the idea presented for the August comp, and finally had something actually come together!
If you've been around my profile for a long time you will know that Jazz might be the hardest genre for me to write in. I feel as though I've slowly gotten better at Jazz, but it still was a big challenge for me to pull this piece together.
For this piece, I chose to use Finesden's piece, "Procrastinating Perfectionist" as my motif. The motif I used is the section at A in his piece. This piece is a really iconic piece in the Flat community, it's amazing how much people have been inspired by this piece. I've always wanted to do something in the style of the original piece, but I never had anything come together. When this comp finally came around, I found the idea for a jazz style using the motif was just stuck in my head. I had a really great time writing this piece, and I hope you all enjoy!
