This is the fifth and final movement of my String Trio in F major. I decided to try my hand at writing a fugue, which encompasses the first section of the piece. (Feel free to offer feedback, this is one of my first attempts at full counterpoint.) In the dark parallel minor of F Minor, the fugue is melancholic, powerful, and a deep reflection of mine and others’ personal experiences. It ends on a suspended picardy third, symbolizing the optimism for the future. The second section in the tonic key of F Major is in a short sonata form, recalling themes from every previous movement of the work. Try to find all of the references 👀. Overall this has been a really fun and introspective project, I hope you enjoy it!
